Amber Floral Tree Block Print Cotton

A dense, all over flowering tree print in white on a warm amber ground — delicate branches, open roses, scattered blossoms and fine leaves fill the cloth in a classic Sanganeri jaal style. Two-colour and highly detailed, it has an almost monochromatic quality that makes it extremely versatile. Works as well for interiors as it does for garments.

Hand block printed in Sanganer, Rajasthan using a technique with roots going back over 400 years. Sanganeri printing is recognised by its fine, detailed floral and botanical motifs — butis (small scattered motifs), butas (larger individual motifs), jaal (all-over floral nets), and bel (trailing vine borders) — applied to a light or white base cloth. Each colour is printed separately using hand-carved wooden blocks. The result is a delicate, intricate print that carries the subtle marks of its maker. Machine wash at 30°. Some colour release on first wash is normal — it settles. Pre-wash before sewing if you prefer.
