Crimson Large Paisley Block Print Cotton

Large paisley and floral motifs in white, gold and blue on a deep crimson ground — bold, confident and detailed. The scale of the repeat is generous, with each paisley form intricately outlined and filled. A fabric that makes a real statement and rewards being cut into larger pattern pieces where the full repeat can be seen.

Hand block printed in Sanganer, Rajasthan using a technique with roots going back over 400 years. Sanganeri printing is recognised by its fine, detailed floral and botanical motifs — butis (small scattered motifs), butas (larger individual motifs), jaal (all-over floral nets), and bel (trailing vine borders) — applied to a light or white base cloth. Each colour is printed separately using hand-carved wooden blocks. The result is a delicate, intricate print that carries the subtle marks of its maker.
