Sage Green Yellow Daisy Buta Block Print Cotton

Cheerful yellow daisy like buta motifs on a soft sage green ground, each flower printed with green stems and leaves on a white base. The motifs are clear and well-spaced — unfussy and fresh. One of those prints that works particularly well for children's clothing and summer dressmaking.

Hand block printed in Sanganer, Rajasthan using a technique with roots going back over 400 years. Sanganeri printing is recognised by its fine, detailed floral and botanical motifs — butis (small scattered motifs), butas (larger individual motifs), jaal (all-over floral nets), and bel (trailing vine borders) — applied to a light or white base cloth. Each colour is printed separately using hand-carved wooden blocks. The result is a delicate, intricate print that carries the subtle marks of its maker. Minor variations in print alignment and colour are part of the hand-made process. This is a genuine Sanganeri block print cotton fabric, sold by the metre from the UK.
