Sanganeri Block Print Cotton Fabric by the Metre

An all-over trailing vine print on a clear cornflower blue ground — teal and burgundy lotus flowers, buds and leaves wind across the fabric in a flowing, naturalistic pattern. The blue ground is clean and bright; the print is generous without being heavy. One of the more versatile prints in the range.

Hand block printed in Sanganer, Rajasthan using a technique with roots going back over 400 years. Sanganeri printing is recognised by its fine, detailed floral and botanical motifs — butis (small scattered motifs), butas (larger individual motifs), jaal (all-over floral nets), and bel (trailing vine borders) — applied to a light or white base cloth. Each colour is printed separately using hand-carved wooden blocks. The result is a delicate, intricate print that carries the subtle marks of its maker. Minor variations in print alignment and colour are part of the hand-made process.

Machine wash at 30°. Some colour release on first wash is normal — it settles. Pre-wash before sewing if you prefer.
