Turquoise Sunflower Floral Block Print Cotton

Bold, sunflower like blooms in amber, yellow and burnt orange on a bright turquoise ground — large open flowers and trailing buds move freely across the cloth on teal stems. Hand block printed in Sanganer, Rajasthan using a technique with roots going back over 400 years. Sanganeri printing is recognised by its fine, detailed floral and botanical motifs — butis (small scattered motifs), butas (larger individual motifs), jaal (all-over floral nets), and bel (trailing vine borders) — applied to a light or white base cloth. Each colour is printed separately using hand-carved wooden blocks. The result is a delicate, intricate print that carries the subtle marks of its maker.
